Across the Pond
September 3, 2009
September 3, 2009. Drew locked exit-row seats on Delta. The cities were already on a euro rail pass.
London first. A pint when they met. St Christopher's for the hostel. Max Withdrawal passed on the list: first class from London to Paris was worth it, and a cheap flight from Paris to Amsterdam would drop Belgium. Prague was the favorite city on that list, second to Venice. Drew skipped the flight. The pass was first class. Bruges stayed.
- London to Paris, 2 hours 25 minutes
- Paris to Brussels, 1 hour 35 minutes
- Brussels to Bruges, 1 hour 2 minutes
- Bruges to Amsterdam, 3 hours 32 minutes
- Amsterdam to Prague, overnight, 14 hours 15 minutes
Drew wrote the row.
There should be plenty of room for flexing... I think we are in the first row of the section near the bulk head, so we might not have any seats in front of us... we should be right near the restrooms too.
Near the restrooms, so the scotch was easy. Enough room in that row, he said, to do some rocking — the cabin might think they were about to head out. London, Paris, Brussels, Bruges, Amsterdam, Prague on the pass. Italy was still handwriting.
On the overnight toward Prague the cane came out. Two bags of pistachios hung from the handle. Suitcase in the dark. That was the sign.
